A day in Croatian capital Zagreb, the capital of our neighbouring Croatia is just 2 hours from Ljubljana. Once two towns merged in one modern, cosmopolitan European city. Accompained by a local private guide we are going to see the capital's best:

• visit the former medieval towns Kaptol & Gradec and discover how they merged into one city – Free Royal Town of Zagreb, in 1850
• learn about Croatia’s turbulent history under the Austro-Hungarian Empire, Communist Yugoslavia (1945-90), Homeland War and more
• Dolac market »the belly of the city«
• the tour will end with wine-tasting of Croatian indigenous wines
• private tour for up to 8 people

Along walking in downtown area, stories, myths and legends will be presented. We'll be ‘Happily Lost’ in Zagreb. During Zagreb walking tour we shall visit places that travelers often miss, because they are not documented in printed guides. After the tour, we will go to ‘Basement‘ wine-bar. In easy-going and cozy atmosphere we’ll taste 2 different indigenous wines of Croatia. Also, short (hi)story of wine-making in Croatia will be presented. You will get some time off to plunge in Zagreb's life and than we will be going back to Ljubljana. We will be back at around 5 pm.

Itinerary:

Departure from Ljubljana around 9:00am (suggested). At around 11 am we are going to meet our Zagreb local guide and start sightseeing tour: main square Bana Jelačiča, old towns Kaptol & Gradec, local market Dolac, cathedral,...The tour will end up with wine tasting and finger food in a local ‘Basement‘ wine-bar.. After time off, we will pick up our car/mini-van and drive back to Ljubljana. We should return to Ljubljana around 5pm.
