I assume you have heard the ancient Greek story of young beautiful man Narcissus. One day he passed the pond, looked in the water, saw a beautiful face and fell in love. Narcissus waited and waited for the reply from the pond. There was no response and Narcissus melted away. The legends says, on the place where he stayed, a gorgeous daffodil grew and became the symbol of beauty. In Slovenian language, the flower is called NARCISA.

In the north western part of Slovenia, along the border with Austria, in Karavanke Alpine chain, near the town of Jesenice is spread daffodils paradise. Meadows in that area turn their fresh green color into white carpet. All that because of the millions of daffodils that start to bloom that time of the year. This is so unique, that Golica mountain with its daffodils became an inspiration for the most well-known instrumental tune in the world and was written by brothers Avsenik.
