Well, May is definitely one of the most charming months in Slovenia. Trees around us are already bushy, rivers and lakes are reach with water and meadows are more and more colorful. Nature is a true bee paradise.

Among all the flowers that are the most admired this time of the year are daffodils.

From farm to table, local production, local produce, all these expressions are a bit odd for us Slovenians. Would you like to know why?

Well, as we mentioned in one of our previous blogs, Slovenia is rich on fresh water. There is not much fertile land. The greatest part of the country is rocky; there is plenty of limestone terrain. Just a tiny part in the most Northeastern part of Slovenia is easy to be cultivated and is excellent for agriculture.

Have you heard, Slovenia is the third greenest country in Europe? Travelling along the country is a balm for your eyes: green, green, green. No matter, higher Alps, lower Dolenjska, flat Pannonia terrain or lime stone terrain on the south west of Slovenia. Our new Slovenian slogan is called: green- active – healthy.

Have you heard of dual? Most probably, in your language, you use singular and plural only. Well, our mother tongue is exceptional: between one and two or more, we put another form, which we call dual.

Did you know, that Slovenia is one of the rare countries in the world that recognized the access to drinking water is a basic human right? That is how we rendered any privatization of water resources impossible. The water resources are managed by the state.

Whenever travelers plan their trip, rises up the key question: what are we going to drink, do we need to boil the water, where do we buy bottled water, how much, does it cost, etc.)
