Between (mainly wooden, however they can be made of concrete as well) vertical polls there are horizontal beams. On those beams farmers put wheat, hay, corn.... to be dried.
After drying the food was brought to their homes and kept in a barn or a double hayrack - TOPLAR (from German word DOPPLER). Those ones you are going to see around farmers homes in the villages.
Hayracks are located in mainly in Carniola: if you a joining us on a tour to the Alpine area, like lake Bled or mediaeval town Škofja Loka or to our Postojna underground cave or to the off the beaten path Dolenjska, you would always have a chance to admire these unusual constructions. When on a tour with a local expert you will have excellent opportunity to share many stories behind the scene.
We, tourist guides, will take care that your day will be joyful and your experience with us will be a memorable one!
