The capital of Slovenia is well known for its diverse architecture. One of the richest art periods is a baroque. In the second part of the 17th century, the trade between Mediterranean basin and the central part of Europe was active again.

There was more wealth in the city and prominent businesspersons decided to organise them in an organisation, which was called Academia Operosorum. Their main goal was to make Ljubljana a vivid and active cultural place. A great part of the baroque works can be admired on our Walking city tour.
